This program is designed for entrepreneurs who plan to continue operating their existing business overseas while also expanding into Canada. Multinational corporations may also use this program to move management and key staff between branches.

Intra-Company transfer

A C11 Work Permit may be an option for entrepreneurs who are the sole and majority owner the Canadian business. This type of application is usually for seasonable businesses or in cases where the business owner intends to maintain a primary residence outside Canada.

Entrepreneurs investing in a Canadian business that is not related to an existing business overseas may consider an Owner-Operator LMIA-based work permit. Entrepreneurs will be owning the majority of the business and must plan to take an active role in day-to-day management.
